Notice I have quotes around the word "thrill". I was tongue in
cheek as the team felt it was anything but a thrill. It was always a
full blown backside kicking. We were just way out of our league. We
also played UNO in a home and home series every year. They were very
good as well but we could compete with them. As a matter of fact one of
the games I will always remember is when we played UNO my Senior year at
Orville Smith Field in Ralston. It was the second game of a
doubleheader which then doubleheaders were seven inning games. My
roommate pitched and I caught. We beat them 1-0 in eight innings. My
roommate threw something like a two or three hitter. Thanks for letting
me reminisce.
