[Husker] Who says you can't change defensive coordinators mid-game?

I have a modest proposal.  Instead of discussing changing the defensive coordinator mid-season, how about changing him mid-game?  If things are looking bad on D tomorrow against Iowa State, why don't we get rid of Cosgrove during the game?  That would certainly send a message that BC means business.  
   
  Does anyone know if this has ever been done?  Coaches changes QBs or running backs mid-game all of the time, why not fire an assistant during the game?  Hopefully it won't come to that tomorrow, but if it does, BC should be ready.  And the fans should be ready too.  Perhaps we can get to the game a bit early and practice a specific boo to signal to BC our directive to shake up his staff mid-game. Then we'll really have something to talk about next week!

I concede that I haven't followed the dozens and dozens of assistant coach
hiring's each year, so I have no way of knowing if that's true. I do know
from OWH and LJS articles at the time, that Solich spent an enormous amount
of time, searching and researching, before he settled on someone (Pelini) he
had never worked with before, and who turned out to be a very hot commodity
today, after being a comparative unknown when Solich hired him.

By the way, I made a point not to attach judgment to my original phrase. I
assume there are pros and cons to both methods. If you worked with someone,
you should know them pretty well. On the other hand, it does shrink the
talent pool, big as it may be.
