Thought some of you folks might be interested in this.

A friend of mine was at the Yankees game Saturday which had a fairly long rain delay at the beginning.

While fans were congregating under the stadium to avoid the rain, he had the opportunity to meet Joba's dad. He was very much impressed with him. As they were chatting dozens of folks came up and introduced themselves to him. He could have passed them off with a quick hello, but instead asked each their name and where they were from and made polite conversation. My friend, who is more accustomed to east coast ways, was startled by his genuine friendliness.

One of my questions was answered by my friend. I had wondered why he had not been seated right down at field level. It turns out that those seats are pretty inaccessible to those in a chair, motorized or not. The seats he has are the best in the house that allow access. I guess he could have been in one of the luxury boxes, but I get the impression he would rather be with the "people" than with the big brass.
