Pellini had 1 year left on his contract with NU. He could have been 
forced to stay and no one knows if he would have wanted to stay if he 
was asked to. Maybe, maybe not. I happen to think he would since he had 
just moved his family to Lincoln less than a year earlier.

In any event, if he made it clear he did not want to stay, NU would 
have released him from his contract (with no buyout). NU could have 
also stipulated that he not got to a B12 school as a condition of being 
released from his contract. BC is more than happy to use this 
stipulation for any athlete requesting a release from his scholarship, 
they cannot go to a B12 school.

Instead, NU  paid Bo 200K to go coach at OU.
