[personal] [Husker] Who says you can't change
defensivecoordinators mid-season?

It seems odd to me that Pelini's name comes up whenever defenses get
shredded...didn't he basically pine for the head coaching job or no job
at NU? Or, maybe that was the implication? Either way, it seems to me
that wishing for a guy to be the DC here or saying he should've been
hired as the DC here with Callahan is moot, because I don't believe he
would've taken the DC job at Nebraska unless it included the head
coaching job as well. I'm not sure the way he went after Bill Snyder
after the KSU game helped his chances anyway (although I personally
thought it was great). Pelini doesn't strike me as the guy who wants to
play second fiddle anywhere, unless of course it is to spite another
program who turned him down.

I know Marvin Sanders is available. He had received a nice extension
from UNC (until 2009) and stayed to help the transition to Butch Davis.
I would love to have seen Bo stay, at least to the end of his contract
(1 year) and groom Sanders to take over.
If you did something mid season, he might be the best choice, though I
think better ones will be available at the end of the season.
