[Husker] The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

Greg,
I can see the distinction between sales (and sellouts) and turnstile counts.
I have seen people at the gates clicking counters in some past games. Of
course, no matter how you count a crowd of that size, getting a "true"
number in an absolute sense will be impossible (i.e. Even if you could count
the same crowd multiple times the same way, you still would get some
differences in the totals.)

On the other hand, the Athletic Dept. certainly knows exactly how many
tickets were sold or given away for a game.

So if the "attendance" = "number of tickets (sold)," and every game is sold
out, then why is there any difference at all in the "attendance" from one
game to another? How can big games lay claim to setting a "new record" for
attendance? Is it "sold" vs. "given away?" Are they putting up extra rows of
folding chairs in the skyboxes? Selling seats on the top of Hamilton Hall?

Anyway, this was certainly the most sparsely attended Husker game I've ever
been to, and I've seen a lot of them, including many "cupcake" match ups.
And this was with perfect weather.
