The Good: Sam Keller's poise, leadership and passing. The Husker receivers.
Special kudos to TE Sean Hill. BSU QB Nate Davis. Bo Ruud's INT and TD.
The Bad: The defense. Had it not been for BSU dropped passes, they would
have had 750 yds and a win. Husker running attack against a much smaller
D-line.
The Ugly: People in the stands (I won't say "fans.") booing the home team.
No excuse for that.
=============
I was at the game yesterday, and I have the sunburn to prove it. There were
_many_ empty seats throughout the stadium. Obviously, a "sell out" doesn't
mean everyone shows up. Before the game, outside the East Stadium, dozens of
people were offering tickets for sale with few takers. The announced
attendance was in the mid-80s, but I don't remember the number. Huskers.com
says: 84,294.

Considering that the USC game drew 84,959 according to the same source,
these numbers apparently have little to do with the number of people who
actually walk through the gates.

If we take the USC number as "The Truth," the Ball State game attendance had
to have been at least 5,000 less, say 79,000. Since the sell-out streak is
now the last vestige of pre-Pedersen Husker Tradition, it must be preserved
at all costs...
