Again, this statement by Octavien goes to the moxy and mental fortitude of
the team.
I don't like what I see. I AM going to the games, because I want to.
Anything else I say about Octavien is personal, so I won't.

"Would the boy I was yesterday, be proud of the man I am today?"

Subject: [Husker] Incredible Statement

Good Evening Everyone:

I trust that those with heart problems have taken enough medication and
sufficiently recovered from this afternoon's train wreck. As most here know
I do not comment on the games or people who play them instead trying to
stick to the ancillary issues of NU football, but tonight I have to comment
on a quote from a first team player.

The quote in question is one that was apparently made by one of our first
line players Steve Octavian (sp?) who uttered the following:

"If you don't like what you see don't come to the games"

I don't know what to say except that is one of the dumbest remarks I've
heard. In case he has forgotten there are plenty of people who are:

1. Forking up big money (beyond the price of tickets) to see those games.
2. Pay for his education.
3. Hopefully see a fairly decent product on the field.

Right now only two of the three things that I listed are occuring, I'll
leave it to you to figure out which two I'm talking about.

Gary Fead
