I'm not going to argue that point. I think that most of our upcoming
conference opponents would have beat us today. Fortunately, they only
have to win 3 out of their next 8 games to go to a bowl game (not that
6-6 would be anything to be proud of in Callahan's 4th year).

If they would have lost today, my opinion may have been different. For
most of the 2nd half, I felt similar to how I did when we lost to
Southern Miss in 2004. There was just a stunning sensation of "this is
the beginning of this season's end." I think that such a loss would
have devastated this team in every sense of the word. At least we have
a good offense this year, unlike in 2004. We would easily be 1-3 or
possibly even 0-4 with the 2004 offense and this defense. I'm scared to
death of what will happen next year with a new quarterback.

I still stand by my prediction that Nebraska will lose at least 2-3 more
games this year, in contrast to the other lister who thought they would
only lose one more to Texas. Even then, I think that may be generous on
my part.
