I can readily understand the intensity of Todd's feelings, but this 
kind of thing really does cross the line. I might respond by 
questioning Todd's credentials for writing such things, but that 
would cross the line, too. ( Besides, my own gridiron credentials are 
strictly limited.)

Remember "back then" when some Listers were writing in a similar vein 
about our Heisman quarterback? Well, I happened to know at the time 
that his mother and grandparents were lurking on the List  and were 
more than a little upset but could not reply to counter.

Our Husker world is actually intimate as well as finite, so we can be 
sure that what's written derogatorily here is bound to reach the ears 
of friends and family.

That's not a thing to be taken lightly.
