[Husker] A Word In Edgewise, If You Please...

USC had a short field most of the night anyway.

Statistically, you may be right, but if you watched the same game I did, you
know it was a blowout in every sense of the word.

"More first downs" -- well, if you let players run for 25 yards a pop, there
aren't a lot of first downs needed.

"More yards passing" -- USC didn't need to pass. This is like the '95
Florida team saying they outpassed the Huskers in the 95/96 NCG.

"Only 37 fewer yards" -- as a USC fan/friend of mine happily pointed out,
that was mostly against the USC reserves in the fourth quarter (plus of
course the mid-first half run for the Huskers).

Defensively at least, we are a very bad team. Offensively we are not a
great team.

Having said that, I hope you are right about the rest of the season and we
can turn things around.

USC was the best team the Huskers will face this year. That said, the
Huskers had more 1st downs, more yards passing, and only 37 fewer total
yards.

I believe the Huskers are a lot better than some of you think.
