Just thought you all might like to know that Joba gave up his first MLB
earned run last night.  A solo homerun by Mike Lowell with 2 outs in the
8th.

 

He tied the MLB record for the longest streak without an earned run that I
could find (17.2 innings).  Lowell got on top of a 98 MPH smoker and drilled
it over the monster (actually, I don't think he had to swing that hard).

 

The good news is, Joba got the win for a 2-0 record and a 0.50 ERA!

 

Last night's line:

2 IP / 2 H / 1 ER / 1R / 0 BB / 3K

 

Total MLB line:

18 IP / 10 H / 1 ER / 2R / 5 BB / 23 K

 

Still pretty damn good if you ask me.  Way to go Joba, keep making us proud!
