Just for the record I do think Osborne was a great coach. However, until his 
incredible run in the nineties his record was less than stellar.

Tom Osborne did win at least  nine games, most of the time against a very 
weak conference. Years ago I totaled up his record BT (before Tommie) and 
even with the great Gill, Fryar, Rosier teams he was 16-29 against top 10 
teams. His record against the top 20 was a little better, 42 and 33.

Steve is right, Tom did leave a great mark on the character of many young 
men. That probably should be the stat he is proudest of.
