[Husker] Special Game Plan

Todd's post brings up an interesting question.. who would you rather sandbag (or beat), USC or Mizzo?

Asked another way, if you had to choose just one: would you rather beat the number one team in the country in Lincoln this weekend, or beat Mizzo in Columbia later in October and go to the Big12 title game?

I know I've set up the "false dichomoty"; the two outcomes are not mutually exclusive. It's just a matter of priorities and game (season) strategies. And maybe an interesting question for Monday morning..

Subject: [Husker] Special Game Plan

I have this theory about this weeks USC game plan. I
say the 2007 USC game plan was conceived in 2006 prior
to the USC game.

I believe that Coach Callahan didn't think we had a
prayer to win against USC in 2006 and saw the 07 game
as his real opportunity for a signature win on our
home field.

I'm guessing, (hoping) that you'll barely recognize
the Nebraska team you see on the field on Saturday. I
think They've been working on the 07 USC package for
almost a year now and it will be much different from
what you saw last year in LA, different from what you
saw the remainder of the games in 06, and different
from what we've seen so far in 07.

Steve Spurrier was accused of sandbagging in South
Carolina's first game of the year hoping to ambush
Georgia last Saturday night in Athens. I watched
South Carolina's first game of the year, and I watched
them play Georgia last Saturday and I must say I agree
with the people who said he was sandbagging Georgia to
get an edge on them. It sure looked like it to me.

Heres to hoping we see much of the same this Saturday
night in Lincoln.
