The Nevada game was not a fair judge of Husker ability. As I mentioned before Nevada had little depth and just wore down. It was a nice win but certainly not a win that would tell one NU is really good. Against Nevada NU had 70 rushes for 413 yards and against Wake had 34 rushes for 115 yards. If you prorate that out it is 70 rushes for 230 yards. Wake has a nice team but they aren't the best team NU will face this year and I am not talking just USC. Assuming USC plays to the best of its ability NU is going to have to show up a ton better than they have so far Here is a quote from an article by Steve Sipple in today's Journal Star:
"USCs defense features a mere 10 returning starters and the best linebacker crew in the nation. Trojan quarterback John David Booty someday will be slinging lasers on Monday Night Football. Five yes, five of USCs running backs could go down with injury, and the Trojans depth is such that coach Pete Carroll wouldnt wince."

NU can indeed beat USC. Heck, Appalachian State beat Michigan didn't they? ;-) I am not saying there is that much difference but NU will have to play the best they can possibly play and USC will have to make some mistakes. As far as what team shows up? I really only have seen one team so far this year. I am pulling like mad for the Huskers. I would love to see the celebration in Lincoln after a big win. It is just going to take one mighty upset if it is to happen.
