So, the choices appear to be having Osborne hire the next coach, being
without a head coach during the several weeks leading up to the signing
date or going another year with BC. IMHO, what it will really come down
to is whether Osborne plans to be
in office less than a month or two or whether he plans to be there 2-4
years (as some of the early rumors had it.)
If the latter, then I think we're a bit more likely to see some kind of
definitive action regarding BC in late November or early December.--Mike

I hope Dr. Tom plans on sticking around to get the program back on track.
It's a deeper crisis than merely replacing Pederson. Surely he can sense
that.
Fixing the program at NU is something he CAN do well at; this involves
the kind of "politics" he totally understands and can handle well. He
will also be dealing with the "new dynamics" of why fans lost support for
his hand-picked successor.
Hopefully most of those fans will also have learned that radical changes
and NFL-type quick fixes don't seem to translate into instant success at
the college level.
