Adversity is a temporary situation that can be overcome. This is more of a calamity that has carried on for the last 5 years. We had an AD that came here and literally ripped the old program-Devaney who brought in Tom Osborne who brought in Frank Solich who got fired after a 9 and 3 season that turned into a 10 and 3 season.
He hired a coach who had taken another coaches team (face it, what did Callahan do to make the team a Superbowl team from the previous year)to the superbowl, then go 4 and 12 the next year. This coach came in and completely revised the program with an offensive philosiphy that takes professionals several hours a day to learn trying to teach college men in a couple hours a day. This coach brought in his old pals to help coach the team regardless of how effective coaches they were.
Players, coaches, ADs all come and go, but what keeps Nebraska football alive is Tradition...and that is why the fans are not happy. And that is why fans see a glimmer of hope when Osbourne came back. He knows what tradition is and can nurture it back to health. And that is why most of us want to see Pellini come back. It appeared he understood our Tradition while he was coaching here and will bring it back to life.
To blindly go "yea team" no matter what has happened over several years will be the certain death of Nebraska football and then other huksker programs as well..
