Yes it does. It is a DIFFERENT season. That means different players and
different opponents, and you can throw a few coaching changes in there too.
I'm sitting here watching the A&M game on DVR. Keller is not impressing
me with his mastery of the WCO, and the WCO is an offense that IMHO needs
a pretty good QB at the helm.
That was one of the things I didn't like about the change in direction
engineered by Pederson and implemented by Callahan, the option may not
have been 'in', but it was a lot more consistent year in and year out, and
not quite as dependent on the star QB, though when the Huskers had a
great option QB (like Gill, Frazier or Crouch) they were nearly unstoppable.
But I'm not sure that's an option (pun intended) we can return to.
It also strikes me that one of the big differences between 2006 and 2007
is that there are fewer of those Solich-recruited players that the
recruiting gurus and more than a few Listers dissed out there and more
of those Callahan-recruited players that those same 'experts' praised
out there.
