Not gonna happen Billy Boy. Its my opinion that there is way to much public outcry for Bills head for Tom to keep him. If he did and next year turned out like this one then Tom would lose a lot of respect from the public. And yes I do think that matters to him.

With Nebraska losing most of their linebackers next year, and a brand
new QB coming into the system, I wouldn't expect much out of Nebraska in
2008, especially if Callahan is at the helm. I'd expect 2008 to be
another "down year". However, with a new coach I can't imagine it would
be any worse than this year.

As far as recruiting is concerned, there have already been a lot of
defections for the incoming class. Many are switching their verbal
commitments because of the uncertainty surrounding Callahan's future.
If we give Bill one more year and we have another bad season (as I
suspect we would), the same uncertainty will return next year and all of
a sudden Bill has two mediocre recruiting classes in a row. Tom will
cut the cord, make a good hire, and hopefully Husker fans will have more
patience with this guy than they did with Osborne's last choice for head
coach.
