I hate to pick nits, but Solich did not handily beat Colorado at Boulder that year.  We trailed much of the 4th quarter and didn't have the game put away until the end.  Unlike coaching genius Bill Callahan's b!t(h slap of Colorado 2 years ago in Boulder. : )

For once we can agree, Sweet Sioux. For reasons probably none of us 
are aware of, Pederson had placed a target over Solich's heart long 
before the final firing.

However, Pedersen didn't realize that he was also shooting himself in the foot.
