A couple of considerations in bemoaning the possible effects of
a possible coaching change on recruits.
1) Given the issues this year, some of the recruits might have
reconsidered anyway on the basis of this year's record.
2) If there is a coaching change, the new coach will almost
certainly be hired in time to do a little shoring up of recruiting,
both trying to keep some recruits who orally committed as well as
going after some others (as happened with Freeman at KSU).
On related matters, I believe that Osborne will stay on as AD for
enough time that there won't be any immediate search for a replacement
and that he will make the decision on Callahan's retention or firing
and on hiring a new coach if there is a coaching change. As was
suggested in the nice OWH article quoted in another post, if and
when Osborne calls to chat with a potential coach, they will take
his call and if and when he talks with interested candidates he
will have an excellent perspective in the difficult task of judging
their likely success (much more so than, say, Steve Pederson).
