This is absolutely my own opinion, I know nothing whatsoever about the real situation, but I believe that there is not even an effort in place to find a permanent AD at this point.  Tom will stay in place for the 2-4 years you mention, maybe less, but not less that summer of '08 at the outside.  Maybe more, but I doubt it.  I believe TO will hire the next coach and next athletic director.  Just a hunch.
