[Husker] Question

What would you possibly be implying? 

I can't say for sure that he fired an assistant (which I would guess he 
did), but you can darn well bet he had to cut tons of young men from the 
team for one reason or another. I'm not sure you'd call that "firing" but 
it's pretty much the same thing, isn't it? 

1 + 2 are not mutually exclusive, btw. :)
