[Husker] Defensive Woes - OWH

I think the assumption with JUCO kids is they are ready to play right
out of the box, perhaps they have been in a similar system already, but
I would guess many are not actually as ready as they think. I can't
recall any of them being redshirted either (at least at Nebraska) but
then again, there haven't been a whole lot there in the first place
until this staff. I know Snyder at KSU was a big proponent of JUCOs but
I can't say how many of them stepped right in.

It sounds to me like maybe the JUCO kids haven't lived up to
expectations so far, at least in the coaches' eyes anyway. To be honest
I haven't seen anything on film that would lead me to believe otherwise
either.

"Inside, we've got guys coming in from JC that realistically they
should be redshirted," Callahan said a week ago. "They need a good
year under their belt. They're kind of thrown into the fray a little
bit sooner than expected."

I fully believe that Callahan is correct in his assessment, but at
the moment I can't think of a single JC player ever who has been
redshirted. Somebody please fill in my blank spots here.
