If so, they'll learn (if they didn't already know it) that Husker fans are
knowledgeable and quite passionate about their team, and that while there
may be a few people who always want to seem to stir up trouble or behave
badly, for the most part they're good folk. But, gather ANY group of several
hundred people and it'll include some people you'd rather not be around.
There may also be some current players, former players, families of players
or even someone from the Athletic Department reading these posts too. I
suspect all of the above have been true at some time since this List was
founded in 1991. (Email addresses don't always tell you who someone is,
but even if I knew for sure I wouldn't say.)
Is this a big issue? No, because I am not aware of even ONE bona fide
case of a committed recruit changing his mind based on what he read on
some fan board on the Internet. (And anybody who's so weakly committed
that he would take something like that to heart was probably just looking
for an excuse to change his mind anyway.)
BTW, if anybody has a current email address for Jeremy Crabtree, a former
Husker Lister who is now a well-respected expert on recruiting for
Rivals.com, let's ask him what influence the Internet has on recruits.
