What steps do you think could be taken that would firm up any wavering
recruits?

It isn't like they're going to be able to announce the zowie hire of 
all time between now and next Tuesday unless it's someone who's currently
unemployed.   There aren't going to be a lot of big names in that group 
anyway.  Neuheisel?  Ugh!  Barnett?  Double Ugh!!  Holtz?  Triple Ugh!!!

Even the one name we all know--Osborne--would probably raise many concerns 
of the 'how long will he stick around' kind among those recruits who are
already wavering because of the current situation, and probably among
those who aren't wavering too.

If they lose some highly regarded recruits while taking the time to do 
what's best for the long term at Nebraska, that's life.  No pain, no gain.

I suspect they could even pick up a few late commits once more is known 
about 2008.
