Well according to my sources in high school land - my students -
Cosgrove's kid was met with derisive comments about his father when
he took the field in his high school football game. If this is true
and considering the atmosphere around Lincoln last week I have no
reason to believe it is not, it is one of the worst examples of
unsportsmanlike, and cruel behavior I have heard of.
Yeah coaches kids learn early the downside of their parent's jobs but
it is never right to put down a kid because of something their parent
has or hasn't done. If we Nebraskans are the greatest fans in the
world this sort of thing would never happen.
I fully anticipate some post about how well, that is just the way
people are and you should get used to it and I say that is a load of
crap - just because bad behavior is common does not mean that bad
behavior should be condoned. Being unhappy with the coaching staff
is one thing but taking it out on the family as a whole is way beyond
wrong.
Finally to answer the 2 questions I was asked about 100 times yesterday
Yes I did stay until the end of the game and
Yes I do plan on going to the A&M game this weekend!
