[Husker] Pelini is GONE FOREVER

Bob,

I hope you continue to post. I enjoy your posts. This list is among the
most cliquish on the web. If you aren't in the clique you are pretty much
discounted, ignored, or attacked. At least you should take comfort in the
fact that they are reading your posts. I've posted a few times but so far I
don't know if anyone reads what I write. I think they do because some of
the things I've posted that were ignored were later posted by someone in the
clique and the response was "Wow! That was really a great post Elrod!" I
still enjoy reading the posts and will continue to subscribe. I am old
school and have always felt a person is entitled to his/her opinion.

I was surprised Pederson was fired too. I am of the opinion that the
coaches and Pederson knew before the season started that the Husker defense
was suspect. I don't know how you can be a good coach and not have any idea
of the quality of your players. I think Pederson extended Callahan's
contract because he knew it would be difficult after a mediocre season. I
believe he knew that if Callahan was let go his chances of remaining at NU
was remote. I don't look at it as a conspiracy but a guy protecting his
future. I can't fault him for looking out for himself. Like I said above,
these are my opinions period.

What you say here is why I am done posting. Obviously, I don't
know anything and am very stupid. Because of that I am not going to
bore anyone with my drivel any more. But, in finality I would
absolutely hate to see the day Bo Pelini is Head Coach at NU. I don't
care if he becomes Head Coach and wins 86 Big 12 Championships and 60
National Titles. He is not someone I want representing the Huskers. If
people want him for Head Coach it just proves it is "just win baby". I
cannot even believe someone is comparing Pelini to Devaney. Unreal!
The infatuation with Bo Pelini has always amazed me.

Yes, I am extremely shocked with Pederson's firing. There had been
nothing to make me believe his firing was imminent. I am more shocked
with the timing than anything else. Yes, I thought Pederson and
Callahan would be here next year. If not what is the deal with the
contract extensions? Obviously they mean absolutely nothing. They
could sign Doc Sadler to a 50 year contract today and fire him
tomorrow. The contract extensions is what I was going on. I don't know
what it proves to fire Pederson now. It certainly won't help the
football team this season. Why it wasn't done at the end of the season
is really a good question.

Mr Perlman has evidently lost Mr. Cook.

I think the reveling in the firing of a man tells me all I really
need to know about the "fact" Husker fans are the greatest anywhere.
