I agree - that was what I was referring to in my comment. And if the AD
lets anyone talk to him during a stretch run, while not knowing the status of
your head coach at seasons end - well he should be standing right in front of
Pederson in the unemployment line.

I suspect Bo could be lured back to Nebraska now that SP has been so
visibly and publicly tossed out with yesterday's garbage (coaching egos
being what they are, what better way to get even?), but NU isn't likely
to be the only school calling him, and is LSU dumb enough to let him get
away if Miles bolts for Michigan? IMHO, Pelini will be wearing the head
coach's headset next fall, the only question is where.

There are likely to be openings at Texas A&M and Colorado State between
now and early December, and possibly even one at UCLA. There will
be others, as well. (Michigan might even make a stab at him.) I expect
one at Northern Illinois, but Bo's far more ambitious than that. And
don't rule out the NFL trying to lure him back.

And, hey, it isn't totally out of the question that if Notre Dame goes
1-11 or 2-10 that they could pull the plug on Charlie. Is there any
assistant coach in the country who wouldn't take a call from South Bend
in a heartbeat?

As I understand the rules, Nebraska can't talk to Pelini--or any other
coach under contract--without getting permission from that school's AD.

Until there is someone sitting in the AD chair in Nebraska, even if
on an 'interim' basis, that just isn't going to happen.

This week's game got a lot more interesting yesterday, what a shame
it's not going to be available even on PPV. As others have noted,
Callahan hasn't seemed to be concerned about his job, but if he isn't
concerned now, then he's a LOT dumber than he looks, even if he might have
an $8 million kiss-off waiting.
