[Husker] Storied Programs In Crisis

People around the nation will tie our situation to the
revolving door at Alabama. There are similarities,
the main one being that two long storied and proud
traditional football programs will stop at nothing
within the rules to regain what they feel is important
to their universities and to their states.

I am hoping that we don't see as many coaching changes
as Alabama has had since their problems began. I have
no idea how much money Bama has spent in the last
decade trying to get their program turned around, but
they have shown that they are committed regardless of
the cost.

I for one am proud that the people in positions of
power at our university pulled the trigger quickly, as
soon as it became apparent that the current regime was
not longer making progress, and was in fact
regressing. We will not stop until our program is
back in good hands and is back among the top programs
in the nation once again.

It's been 10 years now since the decline of the
program began. Has it bottomed out yet? I don't see
how it could get any bleaker than it was last
Saturday, and I feel like the turn around began
yesterday with the exit of the man responsible for
fostering the environment that lead to a catastrophic
failure.

No matter how good SP's intentions were, there is a
thing called the right person for the job. I think
it's clear that SP's workplace habits and
interpersonal skills have poisoned the Athletic
Department, as well as several important media
relationships, etc.... Three cheers for the men and
women who showed courage and made a quick, informed,
and necessary decision.
