[Husker] Conspiracy?

I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine (who also happens to be a Husker fan from upstate NY) and he raised an interesting point- what if Perlman, Pederson & Callahan all knew this was coming (hence Perlman's comments about the summer) and decided the time was right a few weeks ago to extend the contracts and guarantee the buy out possibilities that presumably went way up? Just some food for thought, but perhaps the joke's on us here.

I wonder if Pelini has gotten any phone calls yet.

Either way, I cannot recall a time over the past 25 years that I have looked forward to a Nebraska game more than the A&M game this weekend, for a variety of (anxious) reasons...
