I too believe that Perlman should be held accountable for this disaster.
Neither the coach nor the AD should have been given an extension this
summer. The email situation is only valid if it was done properly. If
the return emails identified the sender than that would account for the
fact that he got such a poor return. It seemed apparent that he
supported SP and I would have had a hard time acknowledging that support
was misplaced and signing my name to it if my job might be on the line.
On the other hand, I do agree that the University would send a big flag
up in the world of academia if a University Chancellor was fired because
of the failure of the football program (which is of course the way it
would be perceived).

Less than three months ago, Perlman extended Pederson's contract through
June 2013.
Now he says he was aware of problems this summer?
Pearlman must go.
