[clip] I believe that Perlman did say he extended the contract and that he
had sent out emails to the entire athletic department staff to email any
comments back to him and they would remain confidential, he got 2 back
according to him, one positive and one negative. 
   
FWIW, I think I heard on 1620 a definite statement that people in the
Athletic dept offices were celebrating after the announcement. I am getting
the impression that things might have been "tense" working for SP and that
there was some fear factor.
