[Husker] how low does this have to go?

All,
a few random comments:
1. according to a recent post: "I am worried about two things: that the team isn't playing sound football in very many areas (although
aspects of the kicking game have improved and pass blocking has been pretty effective) and that he hasn't really shown the ability to
change things." ("he" in this case is Callahan).
if the team "isn't playing sound football", that would almost certainly be a coaching problem, not an AD problem.
2. I understand the sentiment that "things could still turn around" at least next season. After all, just two months ago we had strong expectations for this club. Clearly those expectations were rooted in something other than reality. This team, as evidenced by the results of the past five games, is in a free fall. For those expecting a turnaround, either this season or next or the one after that, one question: Wanna buy my used Yugo?
3. The Callahan experiment has failed. We tried something and it didn't work. No shame in that. Now it's time to admit we're on the wrong path and find a new direction. Is there a possibility the new path won't lead us to where we want to be? (and I'm not talking about national championships, I'd just like some respectability. I think we're entitled to be something other than the Baylor of the North). Sure. But this path, this direction, this coach, this experiment has failed. Clinging to what social psychologists call "the escalation of commitment" will kill what little is left of this program.
