[Husker] Unreal

There is plenty of blame to go around. I think the players in general have given up. This team is poorly coached, but there is a lack of senior leadership. I didn't see effort this week or last. Ultimately it's the players who play the games and this year's team is an embarrassment! The coaches will probably be replaced at the end of the season and perhaps several of the freshman and sophomores will move on as well. I get the impression that many of the players are going through the motions and can't wait for the season to end. On senior day it will be interesting to see how many of the seniors get booed as they are introduced. Several of them deserve to have their careers end in that manner.

I have had some time to think about this, and it still stings.

First, this is all coaching. You can talk about speed, desire, motivation,
etc. as long as you want. You will not convince me we have significantly
poorer/weaker athletes than Mizzoo and OSU. Not in this lifetime.

This coaching staff "coaches" athletes out of the game. I may be old school,
but I think that football is a physical game, not an intellectual game. This
coaching staff thinks it is like chess. It doesn't matter how good your
strategy is if you let the bully take your board.

Bill Callahan out thinks his game plan. He tries to get cute and doesn't get
the team to play football. (fake punt against AU, and this debacle). My read
is that BC knows his defense is a problem. So he is now developing a
gameplan to try to run the clock. That is why we are seeing the heavy
reliance on the run and keeping the ball in bounds the past two weeks.
However, if your goal is to run the clock and not score, it is hard to win.

Sometimes it is bad to take off the rose colored glasses, but BC was not a
winner in the NFL, and it doesn't appear to be happening here. The question
for me is can he learn and adjust (like Osborne in the 1970's) or is a
change needed. To the folks that will say "Who would you get to replace
him," my response is my high school coach could have done better with the
talent we have. If we had a coach that could get the players to play average
we would be doing better.
