If somebody would go so far as to say they'd "not want to come back to
NU" in their resignation letter/statement, that would seem to indicate
they had a very unpleasant experience. Based on everything else that
has gone on with the NU football program in the past few weeks, I would
probably arrive at a similar conclusion - people are jumping ship, and
not simply because a better opportunity came along.

All I know for sure is this: In the past two weeks, there have been two
high-profile members of the athletic department who have not only
resigned, but made very unusual statements on their way out. Generally,
resignation statements/letters are a formality that mention the standard
"I left for a better opportunity, and I appreciate my time here"
mantra. But the past two resignations from UNL have deviated from that
norm. First was Meyers with his statement that "I'll just let whatever
release comes out from the athletic department speak for itself.", and
now Jason Rathe makes comments that his "main goal" is to return to NU
at some unspecified point in the future. Maybe the media is choosing to
illuminate these statements and make them out to be something they are
not, but I can't help but read between the lines and think there is a
lot more going on.
