you mentioned that it might not be fair to put too much weight on this game,
but your last sentence tells why it is so important. Of NU's remaining
games, this might be the only game in which the Huskers are favored (unless
things turn around). If we can't win the games where we are favored, we probably
won't win those we are not favored.
It is imperative that NU win (and I am not sure they can the way they have
been playing) as a statement that we can turn things around.

I read today that some of the players consider this week a pivotal week,
maybe the biggest game of these players' lives considering the circumstances. I
hate to pin all that on one game, but I tend to agree in this case. If
Nebraska comes out and lays an egg at home this week, things will implode. If, on
the other hand they play inspired football for 60 minutes it could have a
great impact on the rest of the season. I know Vegas is all for money, but the
fact that this team is only a 4 point favorite at home this week worries me
tremendously.
Let me state from the beginning that I'd prefer to start with Cosgrove's
exit --- (if you can't defend vs. the spread offense you need to go bye bye)
What about Tony Samuel as new DC?
If Callahan goes, then let's go get Jim Leavitt from South Florida, Ron Zook
from Illinois or Chris Peterson from Boise State if we can (I'm sure that we
missed our chance on Pellini).
The above coaches have the emotion and passion that College Football needs
and are also strong recruiters.
No more NFL business-like mentality, where losses are common place. There is
no room for losses at NU --- we need Husker Tradition, Fire, Passion and
Swagger.
