[Husker] I know I liked Pelini for a reason.

Well, I do think that Bo would have been a better head coach now than back then. Still . . . .would he have done worse than our current 4 year record? I don't think so.

My preference would have been to have given Solich time to find out if his new coaching staff could maintain the 9 game minimum record for at least another year if not two. My next preference would have been to hire Monte Kiffin as a "short-term coach" as Pelini matured. While Pelini eventually went on record as stating he wouldn't stay if not a head coach, he did say something early that suggested he would be a D-coach for Kiffin. But Kiffin withdrew his name when SP stated that Pelini would be given full consideration as head coach. Bo didn't feel he was given that consideraiton.

I think SP thought he could get Urban Meyer here, but he guessed wrong. SP interviewed the internal candidates first, ruled them out, but was shut down by UM before being approached (interview by media).

I don't understand why Callahan felt it necessary to go "outside the family" to get a coach. And don't say there weren't candidates -- starting with Gill and Pelini and culminating with Kiffin. My guess is that SP didn't feel he could be in control without "cleaning house."

My prediction on the Husker future is that BC will make staff changes and be given two more years to reach 10 win seasons. If not . . . he's gone. Unfortunately, Pelini will be a HC somewhere in two years (probably LSU) and Kiffin will be at or near retirement. I HOPE TG can turn things around quickly Even more so, I hope BC can turn things around, but I have no confidence that he can do so.

Are you thinking Pelini should have been head coach? Because he stated
he would settle for nothing less. If so, and you believe Bo Pelini is
head coaching material now, do you think he was 4 years ago? In other
words, do you believe Bo 4 years ago is the same coach he is now?
