Perhaps the worst ever statistically, but in fairness, offenses are much 
different than they were in the 40s and 50s. I don't know that you can 
say this is the worst NU defense ever, regardless of the yards and 
points it surrenders. Such an assessment would have to compare how 
defenses from different eras compare to other teams from the same era. 
(Not that this makes a bit of difference in the fundamental conclusion: 
this is a very bad defense, and if it doesn't show marked improvement, 
NU could lose the rest of its games.)
