Gary Pinkel has finally reached legitimacy in the state of Missouri.  Although his teams had twice before beaten the Huskers, he was never really accepted until this year.  I believe, and I imagine some of you do as well, that he has the Tiger program on the right track.  It hasn't been easy, though.

His teams have finished:
2001 - 4-7
2002 - 5-7
2003 - 8-5
2004 - 5-6
2005 - 7-5
2006 - 8-5

He has yet to have a team finish a season with more than 8 wins or fewer than 5 losses.  And yet, I think he is finally off the hot seat.

Will the same happen with Bill Callahan?  I don't think it will as long as Cosgrove remains.  With a new DC, I think he will turn things around and the Huskers can go back to beating the Tigers on a regular basis.
