I think you may misunderstand. I am not any higher or lower on this
staff than I was the previous one. I just will not go go to the position
that the previous staff walked on water and turned water into wine and this
staff isn't capable of tying their own shoes. I think every coaching staff,
NU and elsewhere, takes a lot of unfair criticism. Shoot Craig Bohl was
ripped on this list as bad as is Cosgrove. I don't have any problem with
fans being upset after a loss because they want to win. But, the coaches
and players want to win many times over more than do the fans. I am not
saying Cosgrove is doing a good job but I can't get it through my head he
knows less about his defense than some guy that sits in row 90 in the
Soutwest corner and had three pitchers of beer before he got to the stadium.

As far as Pelini, you have never seen me post that he couldn't coach
defense. He, obviously, is a very good defensive coordinator. I wouldn't
mind seeing be him our our defensive coordinator now as far as just coaching
defense. As stated before I can certainly see way a new coach coming into
the same situation might have reservations about putting Pelini in that
position. Remember Pelini already had stated he was going to be head coach
or he was gone. And yes, I have said I wouldn't want Pelini for Head Coach
and I still feel that way. I am not sure how you could trace the career of
Bo Pelini at NU and at least not come away with the impression the guy has a
large ego. Large egos were not present in Osborne's staffs. At least one
doesn't come to mind.

To me the ideal situation would be if he became a genius here but if
hit can't be here I agree with you. I think all this talk about coaching
changes is pretty premature anyway. There are still six games left in the
season. Some coaches may need to be replaced but to discuss it mid-season
is really putting the cart before the horse.

We'll see. It could be over already. I think next week will tell us
as well.
