I realize from your past posts that you are very high on the present staff and disliked the previous one. I completely disagree with your description of Pelini.
I think Callahan understands the Nebraska traditions more than people give him credit. He has a great passion for this game and has some very good players coming into the program. I hope he is smart enough to change his coaching to work at the college level in Nebraska. You know that other schools are already talking to some of our recruits about how they might want to reconsider their commitments due to possible coaching changes. I don't blame Callahan for loyalty to Cosgrove but I hope Cosgrove decides to resign. I'm sure he knows a hell of alot about defense but it just isn't working out here. Often a coach changes locations and suddenly becomes a genius - who knows why? I hope he becomes a genius and has great success somewhere else.
If the players really want to support this staff, I would expect alot better effort on the field. I just don't see it. Next week will be critical for the rest of the year. A big win would help alot toward confidence down the road. Further digression like the past weeks and it's over.
Mike
