    That is true but let's be sure we aren't talking out of both sides of 
our mouths here.  If NU fires Callahan and staff after the season NU is 
going to owe a heckuva lot more than $200K.  If it is the money that is in 
question then NU is going to have to wait closer until Callahan's contract 
is up.  I know this has been discussed before until it is beaten dead red 
but every Head Coach in any sport is going to want to name his own staff. 
It is just the way it is done.  That is all Callahan did.  Did Solich have a 
better staff?  That is arguable.



     Most of the time it is not a good situation for a new Head Coach to 
come in and keep members of a staff that has been around for a lot of 
reasons.  Head Coaches and staffs are not just pieces of machinery that will 
work as long as the parts fit.  They are human beings with attitudes, 
feelings, loyalties, and goals.  And then add to that the brashness, ego, 
and self centeredness of Pelini it wasn't real hard to see why a new coach 
might want his own guy no matter how good Pelini was.
