It can go as far as desired. Fire everyone right up to and including
the Governor. Maybe they are all at fault. Although it is real hard to
fire an elected official. I am being sarcastic of course. ;-) The point
is yeah maybe Pederson needs to go but it is hard to fire everybody. And I
have said repeatedly the easy part is firing. The hard part is hiring the
right individual to take their place. I honestly do not know if Perlman,
Pederson, Callahan, and staff are fired that whoever replaces them are going
to be any better. It is really a tough decision to know what to do. You
don't necessarily just fire the AD and the Coach and everything all of a
sudden is wonderful. It might get better but it might not. It is not easy.
I just want to make sure that if Callahan is fired it is not a knee jerk
reaction.
As far as the big donors well I know what you are saying and I agree.
I have always maintained Husker fans are no different than fans anywhere.
They will support a winner. I think the big donors probably won't have as
deep of pockets if this continues a whole lot longer. I also wonder if this
continues another 2-3 years if Memorial Stadium will be packed to the gills?
If these indeed are true, loyal, and wonderful NU fans it shouldn't matter.
Even if NU would have a losing record for a couple of years downtown Lincoln
should still rock on game days.
What is really sad, and I think Gary Fead stated this, is I don't get
jacked up about watching Husker games right now. He mentioned he possibly
wasn't going to go to the OSU game. If it is convenient to watch the game I
will but I am not going to go out of my way to do that. That is really
different. It used to be Husker football on TV took precedence over
everything that day. Everything revolved around that game. I just don't
feel that way anymore. I'll probably watch but the same effort isn't there.
