On most running plays against the defensive 4 + 3 alignment, a tight 
end takes on the appropriate linebacker and a receiver takes on the 
appropriate safety. If either fails, the play usually falters.

Add the fulllback, whose blocking can make or break a running play, 
to the mix. Taking nothing whatever away from the current players, 
this team misses Dane Todd who was the human equivalent of a 
earth-moving machine.
