Who do you count as linemen? I only see 5. 1 center, 2 tackles, and 2 guards. Unless you count tight ends in which case the wouldn't always be 7. Just curious, not trying to start anything.

Perhaps, but possibly not.
The seven offensive linemen (plus, at times, the fullback) determine
the size, shape, and duration of those holes in the defense.
That is largely what determines a running back's success.
Football is essentially a matter of knocking people down.
