Unfortunately, Ruud may be plenty fast, but sometimes takes wrong
angles. Perhaps he's fast but can't judge another player's speed or
have that hard-wired anticipation ("football instincts") to allow him
to solve problems in space. There's "fast", "quick", and "agile".
Perhaps he doesn't have all three characteristics in equal measure.
His tackling technique is often poor as well, but that seems to be a
problem with a lot of our players so you can't single him out for
that.
While I don't agree that he's all Big-12 material, there's no argument
that he's made some tremendous plays the last couple of weeks, and
he's definitely not given up in the face of criticism.
