In retrospect, it is apparent that no one was coaching the defense, but it seemed less obvious at the time.  The issue was confused because Coz showed up on game day and shouted instructions of some kind to the players (perhaps "stay down!" or "get out of his way").  It was only after the fact that we can realize that whatever he was doing could not be called "coaching."

Well, I doubt I could have done better.

Wow, I missed that nugget that Cosgrove isn't recruiting anymore.  
The article doesn't mention it but, hadn't he also apparently quit coaching
defense for Nebraska sometime in September?
