Funny that you mention your experience with Barney.  The one Iowa State game I went to last year, the fans had quite the OPPOSITE reaction to Barney as an ISU coach.  It seemed like he wasn't showing a lot of fire, and fans in general seemed pretty disgruntled by his play calling.  I know Iowa State didn't have the tools to work with that Nebraska did, but ISU fans were NOT sorry to see Barney go.

Was Barney Frank's offensive coordinator?  If so, I assume he was selected ahead of Turner.  That seems kind of interesting...

Reminds me of the one year of Barney Cotton as O-line coach. I sit in section 7 on the east side. The Huskers probably just went 3 and out on offense. Barney is atleast 30 yard away and is chewing the boys good. I could hear him over the crowd noise and my radio earbuds. I think every head in the east stands turned to see what was going on. We started cheering for Barney.
