[Husker] Why Not Gill?

One thing I really like about Gill, more than any of the other candidates that have been thrown around, is that I feel confident that, given a "proper" amount of success, Turner would be at Nebraska until he retired. I don't feel that way about Bo, or any of the other guys. I do believe that Bo has a particular fondness for Nebraska -- the university, the state, Lincoln -- but I don't see him viewing Nebraska as his final destination. I don't like the thought of the Nebraska job being a stepping stone to something better. Just my opinion...

I personally would prefer Turner Gill to BP and wonder what the hesitation is with TG as well. He obviously has more head coaching experience, so perhaps it's simply that he's too familiar -- kind of like Frank is now. And perhaps he's too closely associated with Frank (whom I like just to be clear -- but not to start something).

Anyway, I guess the chips will fall where they will. It's hard for me to see him leaving Buffalo where he's got an ok thing going -- to come back and be a coordinator at Nebraska (even at higher pay -- I don't think it's about pay at all) but stranger things have happened in the last 5 years.

Looks like Byrne pulled off what Pederson could not incidentally (his NFL coach was lined up and ACCEPTED the offer). I'm still not sure he got a winner -- but A&M was quite good some of the years that Sherman was there previously.
